April 2024: Graduation Dinner celebrating Chloe Hord, Lexi von der Lieth, Sophia Mueller, and Laura Janakiefski - the most wonderful time of the year!

February 2024: Laura Janakiefski earned her PhD after working with Dr. Maxcey as an undergrad at Ohio State back in the day before they both moved to Nashville, TN in 2019.

June 2023: Vandy psych department taking kickball seriously during Pride month

April 2023: Senior Lauren Radomski passed her VU Honors Program Defense with Highest Honors and will be attending NYU for graduate school. We will miss Lauren’s work ethic, camaraderie, and laser focus but we are excited to continue watching her grow. Dr. Maxcey will particularly miss the apple Lauren brings her on the first day of class, the thoughtful input only Lauren will give her on her course design, and Lauren’s cooking of her mother’s delicious soup.

Immersion @ VU

December 2022: Dr. Maxcey was awarded the Provost’s Faculty Grant for Culminating Projects in Immersion.

November 2022: Dr. Maxcey is excited to join Vanderbilt Women’s Basketball’s newly formed Women’s Leadership Circle. An initiative bringing 15+ women leaders from the Nashville & Vanderbilt communities together to support the student athletes on the team. Join her at the games!

September 2022: Dr. Maxcey and her co-authors received the Psychonomic Society's 2022 Best Article Award for Psychonomic, Bulletin, & Review! Read the award-winning article at https://bit.ly/3R9p4lR.

May 2022: The lab celebrated a group of impressive scientists coming out of Vandy Psych in Nashville-Bachelorette-Capital style. You’re looking at a Future PI, MBDS, PhD, UX Researcher, and Data Scientist. Plus three more women who are coming up next to stake their claim on the world. The evening included poured candles at Paddywax and a perfect dinner at Nashville Food Project.

In November 2021 an Atkinson & Shiffrin reunion took place in La Jolla, CA in celebration of our paper testing Atkinson’s memory from his dissertation 67 years ago. Read it HERE.
